I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the PHENOMENAL FAVORITISM in the books, with Gryffindor winning every year, that did it. Honestly, I'm also happy Gryffindor didn't win. Not only because of Gryffindor nepotism, but because it was so close.

I have nothing against Gryffindor, but I did gain a certain bias from the unbalance of winners in the books.
