THE DUCKIES ARE BACK!!
You know how some people know when spring has arrived because the snow has melted or that the flower buds are starting to bloom?

In my family, we look for the ducks that come to our backyard every spring time when we have a giant pond of water in our backyard from all the melting snow. Once the snow has melted (not all of it has melted yet, but a large amount of it), the ducks would fly to our backyard from wherever they came from and wade in the pond and stay there starting from the end of March or early April.

When I came home from school today, guess who I saw visiting our backyard? THE DUCKS!! So spring has officially begun!!

They leave once the water from the backyard has evaporated, which is around the beginning of May, but the pair will definitely come again next year~! The pair of ducks consist of a male and female Black ducks which have been visiting without fail for the past five or six years.

I think they like our backyard since it's something like a private resort for them to swim in and not be disturbed by other ducks or animals.

In case if you were wondering, yeah... Our backyard is really BIG! Big enough to make a nice resort for these ducks!

Hurrah! You posted pictures. I'm so glad I could actually see the duckies this time instead of imagining they were there. I want to go swim in your pond now.

Oh...when I buy a house, I'll have a whale in my backyard. ^^

A VERY BIG ONE!

Though I don't think they come bright orange with aquamarine outlines, and a gargantuan smile and happy eyes...

But I shouldn't tamper with nature...

Hmmm...

That may be true, but then again... We wouldn't have people with mixed nationalities now would we? For example, if you retain with pure breeds, many people would have never been born (except me since I'm a pure bred Chinese *bricks*)

I don't consider humans a part of nature. We're a virus infecting the planet.

I wouldn't know this spring bloom, coz well....there's only 2 season here ^ ^

Yeah, if you have ducks there, I pictured your backyard is big, like I saw in western movies, where they have big n vast yard (like there's lake with plenty of green there too) hehehe

Those pictures are lovely and I wish I could have a big backyard like that. Guess I should just count my blessing with having a park a couple feet away. I wish I used to think the same, aw ducks, geese and birds, but um...they quit leaving. I'm saw like 4 or 5 ducks hangin out this winter at the lake in the park. I told them to go down south, the looked at me like I was crazy. Then I watched the weather report and was that the Main Land States were being hit by tons of cold weather, I couldn't blame them for staying.

And just a random note. It snowed today in the moring and then it hit 40°F today with blue skies and melted everything.
