I am convinced that despite me being a sadist person in nature, I do have masochistic tendencies...

We were watching an old Chinese video in my Queer Readings in Chinese Cinema class where we watched the subs on a powerpoint (that the professor manually scrolled through) as the movie was playing. Later on, he posted on his server the raw video as well as the powerpoint sub. At which I asked the professor how to play the translations with the video, in which he replied that the students would have to manually scroll through the translations themselves as they watched it

This is where I am convinced I have masochistic attributes... I went and offered the professor that I could help subtitled the video for him by using his translations since I'm familiar with subtitling videos as I do it for a fandom of mine

Of course my professor was thrilled that I was willing to help convert the powerpoint slide translations into a softsubbed file for him. But then he wrote in his corresponding e-mail: "After Turnabout Girl, it now sounds like two of the films will need to go through this process: Mulan Joins the Army and Full Moon in New York. Mulan is an actual DVD, whereas Full Moon will be another YouTube file (the DVD is out of print). I presume that it might be wiser if we get these things done before the semester goes crazy."

TWO OTHER MOVIES AFTER THIS?! *hand twitches*

I do adore this professor though, and I'm only offering to do so because I had him last semester. I'm sure that if he was a new professor, one that I never had before, I wouldn't have subjugated myself to spending my entire weekend timing. As well as two other weekends to complete the two additional movies that he wants me to do
