Damn you, Québec and your stupid Bill 101 *shakes fist*

There are pros and cons in living in this province in Québec.

For starters, one of the pros about living here:
. We have McGill University which is the number one university in Canada
. We have awesome festivals around here in Montréal, all year long
. I love eating poutine, bagels, and smoked meat
. You become magically bilingual living here 

Then, there are all the cons about living here:
. Many of the games and other awesome things will be available throughout Canada EXCEPT Québec
. Many of the contests that we have here in Canada allow all the provinces to enter EXCEPT Québec
. It is mandatory that you know French here, otherwise it would be impossible to get a job
. Some of the websites I've seen will ship anywhere to Canada EXCEPT Québec
. The French language must BE TWICE AS LARGE than English and on top
. And the list keeps going on... I hate you, Bill 101. I really do
. In other words, not in French? Not available in Québec 

Why the sudden anger about Québec and it`s stupidity? Because of this:



I had pre-ordered this game and it said that I would be getting the Pokémon Wii clings on EBGames, so when I went to pick it up, the person told me that they didn't receive any shipments of it

So I went online and saw that Toys R Us had them as well and would be giving them away if you were to go in store to purchase the game... Then I saw the bottom right hand corner in that advertisement: NOT AVAILABLE IN QUÉBEC

ARGH~! WHY?! WHY?!! If anyone would be willing to pick me up the set, I swear I'll pay you back for them

I got my iPhone 4S yesterday (February 23rd) and I was ecstatic about it because of it's awesomeness

So I really happy and was using Siri because of the TV show "The Big Bang Theory" 

But then I saw the potential bill I would be getting if I kept it which is estimated to be 72.40$ BEFORE TAXES, so it would amount to approximately 83.26$

So I went to ask a person online via the Live Chat on Bell to see if I could get a much cheaper plan for my phone...

She directed me to the webpage and that's when I saw the "Pricing details" with the "minimum value of 50$/month", and she then explained it's not possible to get a cheaper plan



I'm devastated that I have to return my iPhone because I won't be able to keep this phone due to the ridiculous billing. What saddens me even more is that I'll also need to return this gorgeous case that I had bought for the iPhone 4S as well



There was also apparently "Beauty and the Beast" playing in theaters in 3D last month! WHY WASN'T I INFORMED OF THIS 

*goes to sublimate my anger by subtitling videos for my professor as his research assistant*

I'm currently on one of the McGill library computers to idle the time away before my additional movie screening that I have with one of my professors

I'm happy that I can run the program on McGill's computers, usually I'm barred from running applications or programs that aren't already installed on the computer

I'm currently procrastinating from my reading and not doing anything productive in terms of school

So what am I doing to continue this procrastination? MAKING POKÉMON TRAINER CARDS

I'm so very happy that the site is working again~! It was down for quite a long time and I was sad that I couldn't make them. All the Pokémon that I have listed on my trainer cards are ones that I actually have in my party and the friend codes listed are actually mine (with the exception of the GBA ones)

My very first Pokémon game that I played was Pokémon Ruby for the GBA which was the third generation of Pokémon in the Hoenn region. I'm particularly attached to these set of Pokémon and always will be as they're my first



Second game I played was Pokémon FireRed that was also for the GBA. I love Dragonair~



Third game that I played was Pokémon Diamond that was for the NDS. There's nothing that memorable about this game for me and I wasn't really all that attached to any of them



Fourth game that I played was Pokémon SoulSilver for the NDS. I definitely love how the first pokémon in your party comes out of the pokéball and follows you~! I l've grown very attached to Typhlosion and Scizor 



The fifth and current game that I'm playing right now is Pokémon Black. Those who follow my livejournal will know that I absolutely love and adore Oshawott~



On a random note, I'm also currently playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky with Vulpix and Riolu. I have a Psyduck on my team, but I'm trying to recruit others as well~

I'm in complete and utter bliss and euphoria at the moment

My mom and I are still laughing over our heads over this

I came home at around 6:30PM today from university, and as always, I wash my hands upon arriving home. I noticed in the sink there were strands of hair strewn all about the bathroom sink, but thought nothing of it.

I went to my room and turned on my computer and two of my brothers came into my room. Ethan, the youngest of the two, was beaming with pride over his spelling test. The other, Daniel, had his hood up and went to greet me like he always did.

I inquired why he had his hood up and told him to pull his hood down since it's not cold in the house. That's when I saw it...

Daniel had cut his own hair in front of the bathroom mirror over the bathroom sink and epicly failed

There were parts were he had cut way too short, so it looks like he has bald spots all over his head. I think he realized this after he went to check out his handiwork and realized his mistake, hence why he had his hoodie up

Rather than asking mom to cut his hair or go to a barber to cut his hair, he did it to himself and failed horrendously. Too bad he's not like Harry Potter and have his hair magically grow back overnight

Mom did the best that she could to try to salvage his hair by cutting it shorter all around, but you will still notice the patches of baldness when you glance at it

Again, both mom and I are still keeling over with laughter about this and probably will for a long time 

As it's the beginning of February, midterms of hell and due dates are quickly approaching, so I need to mark down all the important dates on my white board, otherwise I'll forget all about them

But my little brother, Eric, drew a Flareon and an Oshawott on my whiteboard



The Flareon is very elegant looking but the Oshawott is surfing and is so cute~!

Yesterday after I finished my test, I went to Chapters/Indigo to buy the "Pokémon Mega Models: Build Snivy, Oshawatt and Tepig" because kaitousessha showed me an image of the book when she had went shopping with a friend of hers...

So what did I do all last night with my younger brothers? Punch out the parts and assembled the Oshawott model and the "Pikachu with Friends"



Now Tepig, Oshawott, and Snivy have a permanent position guarding my brother's manga section on the bookshelf



I went to Toys R Us with them today and ended up buying more Pokémon merchandise...

The Minccino and Oshawott are mine, but the Chikorita is for Eric



The Tepig and Ultra ball are for Daniel, the Oshawott and Luxury ball are mine, the Snivy and Great ball are for Ethan and the Safari ball is for Eric



My brothers are obviously thrilled that I love Pokémon because of Oshawott to the point where I'll download the series for all of us to watch and end up getting my brothers Pokémon things when we go to Toys R Us...

Someone save me...

I'm biased and I would definitely want Sesshoumaru from the InuYasha series

He's calm and collected but deadly and vicious at the same time. He doesn't tak crap from people and will kill anyone who dares insult him without a moment's notice

He's also really skilled with his sword and is in absolute control. He's also able to conjur up a whip with his clawed hand

He's near impossible to kill as purification doesn't seem to affect him nor does a deep wound seem to deter him since he's able to heal himself

You can also always play fetch with him or scratch behind his ears when he transforms into his demonic canine form

Happy Chinese New Year to all those who are celebrating the first day of the dragon year~



I was born in the year of the dragon, so I'm especially excited about this being my year to shine 

I don't know what I'm feeling right now... I honestly don't...

I had personal files backed up on MU since I no longer had room on my computer or on my HDD, so I uploaded them on MU...

So in a sense, I'm feeling many emotions coursing through me right now...

SOPA and PIPA haven't even passed yet and the FBI have taken MU down

This does not bode well to the Arashi fandom or any fandom for that reason. Without the internet, I wouldn't be buying or supporting many of the artists that I currently am now BECAUSE of the internet

Hopefully, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

As I wrote in my last LJ entry (HERE), I had offered to help my professor in softsubbing a video for him because he was using a powerpoint presentation to host the translations. Which is absolutely unheard of in the Arashi fandom as we use softsubs or hardsubs

I did grumble about it as I was timing it (since we all know "fun" timing can be) but once I finished doing the video and everything, I was very pleased with myself for helping out the professor and making it much easier for the students in class (especially for those who don't know Chinese at all)

So when I e-mailed the professor with the softsubs, his reply was to me later was:



HOLY CRAP?! SERIOUSLY?! A PAID RESEARCH ASSISTANT

I spoke with him today and he said that I should log in my hours on how long I spend subtitling videos for him. At this point, I was honest and told him that it's very time consuming to do and that I didn't want to deplete his funds. In which he replied "But if I don't use it, I'll lose it. So I'd rather give it to you and pay you for your hard work than lose it."

He's also hosting the video that I subtitled for him at his weekly Friday screenings that he has at his house (it's a casual gathering among students and faculty members at his house). I must say, I'm very honored that he's doing that

I honestly never thought that my goodwill to my professor for subtitling a video for him would end up being shown in a public screening nor did I ever think that doing fansubbing as a personal interest of mine for the Arashi fandom would result in a paid research assistant position

However, my current task at hand is to find a program that will allow me to rip a DVD in very high quality. For those who rip DVDs, can you tell me what program you use to do so?

I am convinced that despite me being a sadist person in nature, I do have masochistic tendencies...

We were watching an old Chinese video in my Queer Readings in Chinese Cinema class where we watched the subs on a powerpoint (that the professor manually scrolled through) as the movie was playing. Later on, he posted on his server the raw video as well as the powerpoint sub. At which I asked the professor how to play the translations with the video, in which he replied that the students would have to manually scroll through the translations themselves as they watched it

This is where I am convinced I have masochistic attributes... I went and offered the professor that I could help subtitled the video for him by using his translations since I'm familiar with subtitling videos as I do it for a fandom of mine

kaitousessha says that the subber in me couldn't keep quiet... I couldn't agree more...

Of course my professor was thrilled that I was willing to help convert the powerpoint slide translations into a softsubbed file for him. But then he wrote in his corresponding e-mail: "After Turnabout Girl, it now sounds like two of the films will need to go through this process: Mulan Joins the Army and Full Moon in New York. Mulan is an actual DVD, whereas Full Moon will be another YouTube file (the DVD is out of print). I presume that it might be wiser if we get these things done before the semester goes crazy."

TWO OTHER MOVIES AFTER THIS?! *hand twitches*

I do adore this professor though, and I'm only offering to do so because I had him last semester. I'm sure that if he was a new professor, one that I never had before, I wouldn't have subjugated myself to spending my entire weekend timing. As well as two other weekends to complete the two additional movies that he wants me to do

Mikan's route reminds me of the manga, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, except you're the one who's in shock and are conflicted over your feelings for Mikan when you find out the truth. I do question Mikan's sense of fashion (if you take a look at his casual clothes that he wears) since he is part of the Lily Group, which specializes in clothing
